We are still in Easter season! Christ is risen, Hallelujah! Last week, our church celebrated the traditional Holy Week services.
Sunday Palm was a festive celebration. Our sanctuary was adorned with palms as a reminder of the entrance of our Lord Jesus Christ to Jerusalem.
Maundy Thursday we celebrated the sacrament of Communion, remembering the last supper that our Lord took with his apostles. The service ended with the removal of altar paraments, decorations and symbols, known as Stripping of the Altar.
Good Friday was the memory of the death of our Lord. Our sanctuary dressed in black. It was almost a funeral that culminated in the silent exit of those present.
Easter Sunday began at 8:30 am, with the Sunrise Service. That morning we were accompanied by our Superintendent, Rev. Ismael Ruiz-Millán. It was a symbolic celebration centered on the lighting of the Paschal Candle. At the conclusion of this first service, the congregation enjoyed a fellowship breakfast. At 11:00 am we start our main Easter Sunday service.
It was a blessed time. Glory to God!
